CLEANTECH FOR PROFITS AND NATION BUILDING   AGRO-BIOGENICS OBJECTIVES: to achieve development on the basis of Socio-Techno-Commercial and Environmental impacts created. The prime criterion would be the increase in Jobs at the "lowest" rungs of the society; the second criterion would be the impact on the knowledge levels that help in enhancing current and future developments; the third criterion would be the impact and potentials in business and commerce; the fourth criterion (not the least in importance) would measure how much lesser all these would impact on the environment

THE POTENTIALS IN FARM LEVEL TVDP ACTIVITIES;

SUGARCANE CULTIVATION:

The Current situation is as follows:

# The per annum per ha yield in Sugarcane farm is about 135 T of cane and about 20 T of leafy wastes + other wastes.

# The total values that a farmer could get by direct selling of sugarcane fetches a Gvt fixed price of approximately Rs.2,000 per T … totaling Rs.270,000 ($5,400)

# The net returns, after all expenses, would be about Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000

NOTE: the above “net returns” per ha is very low, and most farmers have either less than 1 ha land or less than 2 ha land. These lands would be in the name of a family, where the ownership could be divided amongst Five people … thereby reducing the net earnings per individual to ridiculously low levels

TVDP Approach:

The farmer group would convert Sugarcane as follows:

1. 60 T of cane would be converted into “Jaggery”, yielding 5.4 T jaggery valued Rs.189,000 (all the available Bagasse’ wastes are used in burning to obtain heat for conversion)

2. 75 Tons of cane would be used to obtain 6.75 T of Methane gas (effective as 67,500 KWH) + 4.875 T bio-Fertilizer + 48.75 T Bio-water … valued Rs.483,750

3. 20 T of other leafy wastes etc would be converted into 1.5 T of Methane gas + 1.3 T of Bio-Fertilizer + 13 T of bio-water … valued Rs.189,000

4. The available Bagasse’ from Processes in ‘2’ and ‘3’ above are 14.25 T. These could be converted into High-value Engineered products such as doors, Flooring, Structural systems, Crockery etc…  A Total of not less than 25 T, valued about Rs.2,500,000

High Value Products using Bagasse’ Wastes

It would be observed that the Development of Farm systems through TVDP would create value additions up to ten/fifteen times that of the normal farm methods.  WE CALL UP ON CORPORATES TO LOOK AT THIS NEW PARADIGM and take up TVDP in various regions in India.
